YLCF Bookshelf

I learned to read when I was three and a half years old. My favorite books were Little Women, Little House on the Prairie, and Anne of Green Gables. The stories they contained opened new worlds for my imagination, inspired me to begin writing, and made me keep reading. Those books still hold a special spot on my bookshelf, but in the years since, they have been joined by many more.

Collecting books seems to run in the family. My grandmother was a librarian for a Christian school years ago, and her home is now filled with bookshelves which I love to peruse. My mother's love of books is evidenced by the bookshelves in the home in which I grew up. And when I married my husband, I brought along 13 boxes of books to add to his already large collection. So I guess I'm just carrying on a family tradition.
