It's not often that you get to see someone's first kiss--especially on video.
The link to the right is a personal video clip from my son Samuel's wedding. I'm sending the clip to you to show how God makes good on His covenants. After watching this video, you'll want to pass this on to friends and family to encourage them that contrary to what the culture says, purity in relationships is possible and that "the wait" is worth it. Let me explain.
Early in his high school years, Samuel committed to remain sexually pure for his future bride. As part of that decision, he decided to save intimacy and affection for his wife--including his first kiss. He waited a long time, but as you'll see, God blesses his covenant promises. His wife Stephanie now embodies every memory and moment of intimacy in Samuel's mind.
I had the privilege of performing Samuel and Stephanie's wedding ceremony last summer. Before my eyes, Samuel fulfilled his covenant with God and founded a new covenant with God and Stephanie at the altar.
Last month, the new couple allowed me to send this "first kiss" video clip to a number of friends and associates. I was overwhelmed with responses saying how much this encouraged them in promoting and preserving purity in romantic relationships. For many it provided hope that sexual purity can be more than just a lofty ideal--that sexual purity is possible!
As you watch this video clip, I hope it will cause you to "raise the bar" in your own relationships. Or maybe it will encourage you to challenge your own children to pursue sexual purity, not just virginity.
I want to encourage you to watch this first kiss video, then forward it to your family and friends (see below for an easy way to do that). As you forward this on, you might be offering the message of hope and encouragement that one of your friends or loved ones needs to hear (and see) today.
Yours for pursuing purity,
Dennis Rainey
P.S. A number of folks who have seen this video have inquired about a
book Samuel helped write for preteens called "So You Want To Be A
Teenager?" For more information on this tool to help your preteen (10-12
year old), click here.
